DropBeam Privacy Policy

Last updated: 21 June 2026

DropBeam is private by default. It does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information.

What DropBeam does

DropBeam runs a small web server on your Mac so a phone or other device on the same local Wi-Fi network can send files to your Mac, and download files your Mac chooses to share. Files transfer directly between your devices over your local network.

Data we collect

None. DropBeam has no accounts, no sign-in, no analytics, no tracking, and no telemetry. We do not operate any server that your data passes through. Nothing is sent to us or to any cloud service.

Your files

Files you receive are saved only on your Mac, in the folder you choose. Files you send from your Mac are read only to transfer them to the device you pick. DropBeam does not copy, upload, or keep your files anywhere else.

Network

Transfers use a direct connection between your devices over your local Wi-Fi. No transfer data leaves your local network.

Access code

When the access code option is on, only a device that scanned the QR code or entered the code can connect. The code is generated fresh each session and is never sent to us.

Purchases

If you buy DropBeam Pro, the purchase is handled entirely by Apple. We do not receive or store your payment details.

Children

DropBeam is not directed at children and collects no data from anyone.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date above.
